Visited for long weekend with my wife with a Thursday - Sunday rental. B&B owner was present in the kitchen and the slightest sounds transmitted throughout the house. Knowing this, we realized that any noise we would make would transmit equally, we whispered and chose to leave for the afternoon. We returned hoping he would have retired to his room but found him still present in the kitchen. We went to the furthest area in the house to attempt to get some privacy. Within 10 minutes, he was back there providing information we didn't request or desire. We decided to go to bed at 8pm rather than continue to be interrupted. At around 4am, i awoke to what sounded like a phone conversation. As soon as the sun rose, my wife and i quickly gathered our belongings and left. We weren't comfortable with the complete lack of privacy in between the way the sound traveled and the large window without curtain in the bathroom that looked in on the toilet and the open end of the shower. We requested a partial refund, and were denied because he didn't rent it out. Paying an extra $280 for Fri and Sat nights at a hotel was better than being there one minute longer than we had to. On a positive note, the architecture is incredible. UPDATE: B&B owner offered partial refund, which I accepted as fair.
